Advanced Making - 5 Day

Course Overview

This course is designed to follow on from an initial two or five day foundation course.

It is aimed at those who are involved in making panels or complete bodies for classic or special cars and covers all that is involved from jig and tool making to constructing panels.

On this course there is opportunity to bring along your own project to work on.

Course Aims

To enable students to replicate and build complete panels.

		Body Construction Understanding the different types of construction used on car bodywork Body design Discussing aesthetics and mechanics of car body design Jig & Tool Design Designing complex jigs, fixtures and tooling Joining Materials Exploring the various methods of joining panels

		Jig Building Taking patterns & profiles from original panel Designing & Making complex jigs to aid panel making

		Making Forming complex panels and structures using mallet and block and wheeling machine in steel or aluminium

		Welding Practicing the various forms of welding used on panels MIG TIG Gas Resistance spot

		Tooling Making bespoke tooling to form recesses, swages, rolled edges, wheel arches etc.
